About OTP
Founder, Jack Shaughnessy
Coach Shaughnessy started his basketball career in Cherokee County which is located just north of Atlanta, Ga. He had a successful AAU and high school career where he received many awards and accolades, including Cherokee Hall of Fame Nomination, 1000-point scorer, Cherokee County Player of the Year, and First Team All-Region.
Jack was recruited and offered scholarships by many colleges and universities across the country. He ultimately went on to play his collegiate career at Seattle University, a Division 1 school in the Western Athletic Conference.
At Seattle, he had the opportunity to play all over the U.S. and the world and helped lead Seattle University to their first-ever post-season appearance. He entered their graduate program in 2018.
Coach Shaughnessy took the same drive and determination that lead to his player success to his coaching refining his skills at West Valley College in San Jose, California.
Back on staff at Seattle University he helped lead both programs to 20+ winning seasons and playoff berths while developing numerous all-conference players.
Coach Shaughnessy founded OTP in 2021. His goal was to develop a high-caliber program that focuses on giving OTP student-athletes the best basketball experience possible. This, in conjunction with providing the tools to reach their potential on and off the court.
Jack enjoys spending his free time traveling with the friends he has made all over the world through the game. He also enjoys spending time closer to home with his two brothers and sister.
